The Aurora Glacier Hat by Suzy Allen
Our friend Suzy Allen of Chain 2 created this wonderful slouchy hat using our Collins Bulky. Her Aurora Glacier Hat pattern is inspired by our Glacial Cave - Lost Paradise Ice Cave colorway which itself is inspired by photographs of the Paradise Ice Caves of Mt. Rainer's Paradise Glacier which were first documented as early as 1908 and have grown and shrunk over the past century. Currently they are lost to us, due to glacial recession, but there is still hope that someday they may return. You may have to wait a long time for the caves to return, but keep a look out, this limited run colorway will be coming back sometime soon. While inspired by the icy blue of glacial caves, this hat will keep your head warm and toasty for your own wintery travels, plus our Collins Bulky knits up real quick. Next time you find yourself stuck inside during a snow storm, think of the ice caves of Mount Rainer and knit yourself up this hat to go exploring in your own winter wonderland.
