This Tahkli (also spelled Takli) spindle and wooden box is made in small batches in India.
These Tahklis are perfect for spinning cotton as the brass whorl allows them to carry a lot of momentum and provide a very fast supported spin. The images show a sample cotton cop on the Tahkli, this is not included.
Each box measures about 8.5 in (21 cm) X 2.25 in (5.75 cm) X 1.25 in (4.5 cm) and weighs about 7 oz (200 g) with the Tahkli inside. It is lined with a velvet-like finished card board that helps keep your Tahkli safe during transport and prevents unintended pricks and barbs on the sharp ends.
